The excuse is somewhere at the level of “My dog ate my homework.” But I assure you, this one is real: “I thought I saved the file.” After I posted the Day 2 entry for the NaNoPoblano challenge, I was gone again for days. The truth was I was so frustrated!
I already had three posts drafted. Where? On Word file. I was very much pleased with myself, to be honest. All I had to do next was to copy-paste, edit, schedule, then voila! DONE! But I was already very sleepy. I stopped writing and tried to exit the file. It hung a bit. I couldn’t wait and shut down the laptop.
You know when your computer asks you if you’re sure about shutting down even when certain things are still open, right? I thought, Nah, and clicked on “SHUT DOWN ANYWAY”. So it did. I mean, I already saved the changes, right?
WRONG. I opened the file the next day and got my rude awakening. All the new drafts were gone! Kaput! Zilch! Bye forever! All my hard work that I poured into them, gone! And all because I couldn’t wait a darn minute being patient.
It made me mad and disappointed at myself. I just didn’t have the energy to start over. And truthfully, I still haven’t started re-writing any of them. I’m still annoyed. I’m a writer and I ignored to make sure I cover the most basic of the rules: ALWAYS SAVE YOUR WORK!
I was just about to create my new post when something made me panic. As always, I check new notifications and what do I see? THIS!!!
What the effin’ H is THAT?!!! Why was Coin Market linking my YouTube video to my WordPress post…?!!! Granted that they are related. In fact, I just edited the descriptions of three videos last night to include the link to the feature ANDREA’S MULTIVERSE (PART 3): THEIR FATHERS’ DAUGHTERS. (The first two parts were already linked there.) Coin Market was, however, linking to Part 1, THE CREATOR’S POINTS OF VIEW.
Did I accidentally click on something on either platform? Was I unwittingly made to, though I couldn’t remember an instant of it happening? Was I getting hacked? Was it a spam comment ’cause it appeared like a comment that I still had to approve? I checked the page, it’s not in the comment threads. So I went to the dashboard.
Well, thank goodness to Akismet, it was held for approval. Of course, I sent it to the trash bin.
I also realized that it might have had something to do with the name of my channel, THE SANDBOX SHOW JGi. There is a cryptocurrency called The Sandbox. It’s the real reason I added the word “SHOW” and retained a name, to distinguish it from the digital coin. I even added a disclaimer on the homepage to say that I am not, in any way, connected to it. Unfortunately, it seems like none of those steps helped.
And it seems like I’m correct, judging from the site itself. On the left is my video with the description below it, just like it is on YouTube. On the right, that’s where the cryptos are listed down. I recognize most of them because I used to tweet news about them.
I honestly could not say if it was spam since the website did seem legit. (I later happened to check my email and there was a notification asking for a pingback). If you click on the video, it plays. The channel name above it, though, does not redirect to my YouTube account. Just here:
How is that supposed to promote my channel? It’s really promoting the crypto. This site finds blog accounts and video channels that just happen to mention words that are the same as the name of currencies. Then they do this. Nevermind that those do not have anything to do with crypto at all. I know. I saw the others. Talk about piggy-backing. I just happened to post various links in the description and they’re clickable, except for TikTok. Good thing, eh?
Well, sorry. It pretends that it’s a great deal, It’s not. They can delete it from their page, for all I care. I just don’t want to be used.
[UPDATE: I just happened to check on that page and scrolled down to the bottom. That’s where I saw a link that said “SOURCE”. I clicked on it and confirmed what I thought, that it led to my YouTube channel. Well, okay, my bad. HOWEVER, I still don’t agree to be used. It still doesn’t change the fact that the video, my channel, even my blog are NOT AFFILIATED with the crypto.]
I like conversations, like I said before. So I write comments to posts. Most times, they bomb, nobody cares about what I think. But a few times, oh, wow, they surprise me! What’s more surprising, though, is I usually don’t know WHY. It’s usually just simple comments, not even silly ones, and people hit the LIKE button for some reason. But hey, you know, I’m human. I can’t say I don’t enjoy some of that.
I’m sharing these few ones, explain a bit, and you decide if the LIKES are worth it (HA HA HAAA!!!). MORE TO COME!!!
This one’s new but there were already 443 LIKES when I took this screenshot. I guess they liked my true story…? Someone asked if my phone was still functional after. It was, because it fell directly down a pile of things. PLUS, it was a very low-tech cellphone.
By “low-tech”, I mean analog, LOL!!! If you know me, you’d know that for the longest time, I resisted owning touchscreen mobiles for myself (mainly for practicality’s sake). I have them now but I still held on to an analog up until the pandemic. I really just don’t like texting/typing onscreen. I prefer the feel of an actual keypad.
(Ed. As of January 5, 2023, there are 1,282 LIKES)
Translation: “Ha ha, I’ve seen that. Whose account is that again? I think it’s Kristel’s.”
This was a silly local trend a few year’s back. The girls were just playing around. It’s popular because all three are young stars who grew up in front of our eyes, so to speak. They were all a part of a popular kids’ gag show when they were little. They’ve also done various shows and movies. The girl who started it is Sharlene San Pedro. The next one is Miles Ocampo. That’s Kristel Fulgar at the back. I saw her YouTube post of this three years prior.
The video is still getting LIKEs once in a while so I’m putting it here. I am just not sure what was so special about my comment. The number is already big for someone like me.
(Ed. As of November 30, 2022, there are still 317 LIKES. It’s slowed down.)
The prank was funny. But really, I just quoted him and added a few emojis. So the fact that there are 5,461 LIKEs and still counting is mind-blowing to me. What’s more mind-blowing? The fact that there are similar comments and they, too, have many LIKEs than mine!!! Some even have so much more!
(Ed. As of January 5, 2023, there are 6,347 LIKES)
Welcome to Part 3 of “Andrea’s Multiverse”! Sorry it took long as I had been kind of sick for a time and was also waiting for something. Anyway, last time, you got acquainted with top fan favorites Agent Red and The Fairie that were created by TikTok/YouTube content creator Andrea So. Now, meet the other three that fans love to see!
I’m not gonna lie. I wonder if these three women all had daddy issues. There’s the Mafia Boss’s Daughter (MBD), the Pirate King’s Daughter (PKD), then The Princess, obviously daughter to a king.
It makes sense, though. It emphasizes that each of them lives in a “man’s world” where the powers-that-be and their minions are generally male. It does not matter that being children of the big guys gave them certain privileges to go up the ladder. Common ladies would have a hard time even achieving one step of that ladder. The opportunity is there and MBD, PKD, and the Princess have done well taking it.
They work hard proving that they can get their jobs done and do them better than anyone.
The Mafia Boss’s Daughter, Danger Woman
Let’s first get this out of the way. There are people that are probably not aware that the real Mafia is an actual international group doing organized crime. They look cool on TikTok, except they are anything but. Leave it to Hollywood to romanticize everything, including the Mafia.
That said, fiction is fiction — any character can have an interesting story, even a Mafia boss’s daughter. So, moving on…
Viewers first see MBD as the tough daughter of the Boss. “Tough” is an understatement as her father trained her hard as their hitman. She is their version of Agent Red, so to speak. If they are to fight each other (hopefully not), MBD will not go down easily, if at all (sorry, Red). She is combat-trained and a sharp-shooter herself, which shuts up every guy who questions her skills. She hates a lot of things, but misogyny is definitely one of her biggest pet peeves. Avoid triggering her at all costs!
It is not clear why her father trusts her to get things done. I do take it that she’s probably proven herself to him time and again. At some point, she even becomes the boss, taking over the “business”. I imagined her as a solo child. In one POV, however, she has brothers who have tried to kill her to get the power but failed. In another, she has a little sister. They all could still very well be part of her storyline.
The one thing that anyone should remember about MBD is she is bossy. And that comes with a very quick, very bad temper. That is also why she seems to be constantly annoyed. And when she doesn’t, well, it can be quite tricky guessing what mood she’s really in.
In the multiverse she shares with the four women, I assume that she is either a different MBD than the one above, or she has mellowed down and probably left the Mafia (at least, the organization, not her family). Because it’s more interesting, I choose the latter.
She is the way she is because being female, she always had to be tough to prove her worth to her father. That meant doing things that didn’t seem to faze her (except they did, internally). Nobody saw it coming but the last straw was the last mission where she had to keep a child distracted during his parent’s execution. She always made it a point that this was done and took it upon herself to do it.
She left and that was the end of her Mafia career. She was still human….
Okay, I made that whole scenario up about her leaving, ha ha. But you have to admit, it’s a good POV. And Andrea’s wonderful acting makes it believable. The forced smile, the quick side glance, especially the subtle flinch at the end–they were everything that made it powerful. The video, so far, has been the saddest one I’ve seen from Andrea. The more I thought about it, the more I got sad the first day I saw it. I honestly stopped watching videos a little bit to pull myself together. This is how I am, okay?
Going back to this version of MBD, it’s funny the way that she usually looks annoyed at something and blurts out a demanding “WHAT?!!!” But unlike the serious Agent Red, MBD is more social and expressive. If it is not about work, MBD doesn’t hide her feelings.
She smiles easily when something amuses her, which sometimes make men actually like her. She adores her kid sister the most in the family and shows it in her own way. She gets pranked and tries not shoot you (well, sometimes). She enjoys dancing in public. That is, unless it affects her reputation or authority. Like losing in a bet and being made to accept defeat (however ungraciously) by dancing silly in front of everyone.
Surprisingly, like Red, MBD feels closest to Faerie, it seems. She laughs at Faerie’s craziness. They’ve become partners in crime, too, so to speak. MBD gamely joins The Faerie in doing the dancing trends. They are especially naughty when playing prankson people. Who would think that this is the old MBD?
Perhaps, it’s the maternal — or big sis — instinct that she naturally feels, something she tried to hide before especially coming from her background. That is why when Faerie’s in trouble, bullies may find themselves in double trouble.
If you find yourself often confused between Red and MBD, you are not alone. This happens a lot. They have similar tastes in clothes: the cuts, the dark colors, the more professional look. They present themselves as professionals. Lately, though, Red wears more leather and gloves. MBD wears more feminine cuts and less blazers. There is one top that they both love to wear, though, you may have noticed. The Princess wore it once, too. I’ll leave it to you to find out which one.
Red’s very red lipstick should set them apart, except sometimes, MBD likes it very red as well. So to not be confused, look for the “clues” I mentioned. Check that previous clip above, too. The best thing is to read the POV descriptions first to avoid/lessen the confusion.
Oh, and fun fact: MBD was the OG bad*ss before Red came along. People wanted more non-common characters like The Princess. Andrea came up with MBD. I know MBD came from a TikTok challenge/trend, but Andrea took her to the next level. So, I apologize if this feature on MBD is long. MBD deserves the tribute.
The day MBD entered the picture…well, the POVs
“Belle” said that the new type of role fits Andrea well, aside from The Princess. Andrea promised to come up with more POVs. We now know she did.
The MysteriousPirate King’s Daughter
Among the five, PKD is the character with the least airtime, sadly. There’s probably a lot of POVs that can be done with her, full of adventure and fantasy. Think of Jack Sparrow. (Her father is not necessarily him, okay? And no, not “Straw Hat” Luffy either!) Aaaaarrr! Matey!
I think, and anyone can correct me on this, PKD was created when the Wellerman trend or challenge blew up. That is why most of her videos involve the song.
Legend has it that The Pirate King used to sing the sea shanty Soon May the Wellerman Come to his little daughter. It’s a song that only pirates know and that was the last song he sang to her before she was abducted and disappeared. The king had been looking for her eversince. He hoped that one day, she’d hear the song and come back to him. Until that day finally came.
We don’t know what happens next. How does the reunion go? Does he recognize his little girl immediately? Does she tell him who raised her and how her life has been (she seems to have snatched that little pouch from somebody)? Does he find out who abducted her?…So many interesting backstories to consider.
I guess, if PKD has any daddy issues, it would be with the one who raised her. Her own dad would have just showered her with love and affection after finding her again. But of course, inheriting his position and everything was probably met with a lot of protests, if not silent indignation, from the men. PKD was not one to be intimidated, though.
She’s had a rough life, I suppose, and learned how best to cope. For sure, the king had her trained as well so she could be captain of the ship someday. She couldn’t be a great pirate queen without proving herself in perilous quests. She passed with flying colors. Whatever she lacks in physical skills, if any, she makes up with cleverness and street smarts. She met the evil troll that tried to trick The Faerie and, right from the start, you’d know she really wasn’t having it.
And now, she’s acquainted with equally powerful women. She socializes with them from time to time. There was that time they went clubbing (they couldn’t make her dance) using fake names and pretending to be rich neighbors driving the same fancy car model. Or that time she went strolling through the woods with MBD and The Faerie. Or that time the women auditioned for a singing role. Other than those few times, however, her friends have no idea where she is or what she’s doing. Could she be out on the sea commandeering a ship she and her men have captured?
She doesn’t really tell her friends much. They don’t even know if she has any kind of lovelife. We do know of that time only one guy could make her melt like a puddle. Are they still in a relationship? Were they ever? Maybe. We don’t “see” him again. Sometimes, she misses her chance, too, like the time she was at the fair and blew off someone but it backfired. He asked for her name and she acted like a snob joking about — of all things — thieves! She also gave in to temptation once and used black magic. She may have freed the guy, though. It could’ve been that one guy we mentioned. PKD does learn her lessons.
She definitely has a specific look that sets her apart. The dresses and especially that hairpiece suits her. Come to think of it, though, other than white and black dresses, we never see her wear anything else that’s of a fancier color. PKD has never really dressed up! I guess being a pirate princess does not equate to living a fancier lifestyle. That’s why she’s a pirate. But what they do with the stuff they steal, we might never know.
[Ed. (October 16) A collab just went live starring Andrea and actress Eliana Ghen (@elianaghen) and guess which multiverse lady Andrea is playing. Someone is getting more attention that she deserves 🙂 I hope it’s a series. I’m excited!WATCH IT!!! MORE UPDATE: She’s been showing more frequently these days in multiverse videos. The only thing I was waiting for was to finally see her dance…and she finally danced!]
Her Highness,The Princess
The Princess doesn’t really need introductions. Her character is the easiest to understand and she’s been around practically eversince Andrea’s POVs started.
The Princess seems kind of a spoiled brat, always getting what she wants. She loves to socialize and party, which could be quite annoying to her bodyguards. It is especially challenging when she sneaks out without telling anyone. As a public figure, she is easily recognizable and considered a celebrity. Therefore, she could be easy target for robbery, abduction, or worse. She was, in fact, easily kidnapped once from her own home!
She has it all: beauty, money, and fame. However, we’ve all heard it before, that a royalty’s life is not all rosy. There are a lot of things The Princess resents about her life. For one, she is forced to act like the perfect princess everyone wants her to be. So getting drunk and asking a random guy for a souvenir kiss isn’t something her royal family would be proud of (especially since he turns out to be not just some random guy).
Truthfully, The Princess is more afraid to become what princesses often become, which is forced into a marriage she doesn’t want, sworn to obey a man in a loveless union. It would be more unfortunate if she ends up with the worse kind of prince. This could be a big blow for she is a true romantic.
That royal heart always has a mind of its own. Meanwhile, she also captures several hearts along the way,
Among the five ladies in the multiverse, it’s The Princess that has fallen in love and gotten her heart broken the most. Romance seems to be either her luck or curse, her victory or downfall. We’ve seen her through good and bad times. We’ve seen her cry not just a few times.
Not that she hadn’t avoided love. She tried to be cold and distant, even rude and annoying. But she fell–and falls–anyway, and often breaks her heart in the process. It’s always with the wrong person — the rebel who betrays her trust, the prince from the rival kingdom, the commoner whom her father thinks will never be good enough, even the duke with a very big, deal-breaking secret. Currently, The Princess seems to have an on-going “thing” with her bodyguard who’s fallen head over heels in love with her. They both believe there is no future for them, sadly.
She did meet Prince Charming years ago. Perhaps, she’ll meet him again someday. It was probably not the right time for them.
While true and everlasting love is elusive, however, no one makes The Princess feel more sad, lonely, vulnerable, and unsafe than her own family.
They don’t see The Princess for what she is: a real person with feelings and a need to feel loved by those around her. Rather than the privileged brat everyone has made her out to be, she is a misunderstood soul capable of greater things. Except she is seen but never really heard. She hates beingignored for her views due to her gender. The Princess is actually smart and good with strategies, if only the King hears her opinions and ideas.
She feels most alienated at home. Her brothers do not respect her — they only see her as an obstacle towards attaining the crown. Her own mother isn’t warm to her (probably because she is the biggest reminder of a loveless marriage) so they do not get along. For the longest time, she was made to feel like a monster. Lastly, her father doesn’t trust her with royal responsibilities because she is a woman. He doesn’t care, doesn’t believe to see if she has potentials to rule a kingdom. He’ll rather that his eldest child stays as the perfect little princess to be married off to a prince one day. He’ll pass the crown to the one next in line to her, his eldest son.
What they fail to expect is for her to find her inner strength, though. Eventually, The Princess is able to break the chain of sexist traditions and succeeds in becoming Her Majesty,The Queen.
In Andrea’s Multiverse, The CEO’s Daughter and The President’s Dughter are variants of The Princess. However, The Queen is The Princess’s leveled-up variant. She is the only character that has an older version.
Of course, this do not sit well with her brothers. They do everything, including wage war against her, to overthrow her. In the end, they bow down to the first female ruler of the kingdom. It is The Queen, formerly known as The Princess, that bows to no one! She may not know how to fight in combat, but her strength lies in her ability to be a surprisingly wise, great, and kind leader, not easily swayed or threatened by anyone, especially not by treacherous “allies”.
Often underestimated but always victorious, The Queen rules her kingdom well with courage, smarts, and maturity. Right now, it is her people to whom she offers her true love. (Just remember, these are POVs that use various audios, so she maybe Queen of England now, Queen of Scotland some other time.As long as she rules a kingdom…)
Old habits die hard, though. If she can’t have something, she’ll make sure to have it nonetheless if she deems it necessary. Ask The Faerie who (un)fortunately met The Queen once.
Poor Faerie, The Queen made her cry even more, ha ha!!! But, at least, The Queen’s heart is in the right place. Finally.
THE ANDWEAVERSE
There you have it! You’ve met all of the five most-loved characters (six, if we count the older variant) of The Andweaverse (that’s what Andrea calls it now). I think of them as The Spice Girls of the Multiverse! The Faerie is Baby Spice (DUH!). Agent Red is Sporty Spice, strong and dependable. MBD is Scary Spice ’cause, well, she is scary. The Princess is Posh Spice — Hello? She’s so regal! PKD is Ginger Spice, by default (sorry). She does add her own particular spice to the group.
Watch out for the conclusion of this feature! But let us end this part with an epic Andweaverse concert! See if you can spot or name all who are featured in this video (I’ll add after the vid, but no cheating!!!}
In order of appearance: The Drummer Girl, The Vocalist, The Neighbor, PKD, The Nerd, Agent Red, The Princess, MBD, The Babysitter, The Faerie
Part 4 (CONCLUSION) IS NEXT! YAAAY!!! It will include facts about our favorite creator and the things that make Andrea So iconic 🙂 Those were supposed to be for Part 3, too, but it would really be very long. You’ll need to rest.
ALL SOLO VIDEOS AND IMAGES BELONG TO MISS ANDREA SO BUT THE POSTED DUETS ALSO BELONG TO EDGE TUICO
When I write my stories, I often read aloud and deliver the dialogues to know how they and my characters sound. I want to know if they work; I want to feel what the characters feel. Sometimes, it’s others’ works that I want to have a better feel of…Well, until recently, I didn’t know that that is a form of voice acting.
I can’t exactly say how I stumbled on the first voice acting challenge. All I remember is thinking, why not try? I do it all the time, anyway. So, in maybe a span of two weeks, I’ve posted several entries for challenges already. And I’ve noticed that they’re often the ones that are getting more views and LIKEs on TikTok. I can’t even believe that a few have been saved as favorites by other people.
I compiled them as Set 1 for you. Not sure if you’ll like them. Any constructive criticism would be very much appreciated.
It’s November once again and the writing/blogging challenge has begun! It seems like it was just a few weeks back since I did it. That kind of makes sense, considering how much I extended my participation. Shameless plug: Check out my entries last time HERE. For those who have no idea what NaNoPoblano is, HERE YOU GO, as explained by the lovely and talented Ra.
Obviously, I’m days late. My reasons are valid, though, I’d rather not discuss them anymore and waste time. I just know I’ll make up for the lost days. Meanwhile, MY 2022 THEME: Anything-Social Media. There are probably a range of things to post about. Definitely, a lot of it will be more personal. Some will be text-heavy; some will just be a photo/video or two with a little explanation to go. Some will be combos.
Why social media? To start with, it’s part of my day-to-day life. Being a web content writer, it has become inevitable to take part in it, for work and not. For a bit of transparency, I’ve been working on a Twitter account for over a year now. That’s all I can say.
On a more personal basis, I’ve been on YouTube vlogging (occasionally) and actively joining comment threads. I really like conversations. Sometimes, it’s better and even more interesting talking with strangers, honestly. Facebook? A given. I’ve been spending more time on my writer’s page (the term “fan page” makes me cringe) account, however. Again, it’s better sometimes with strangers, that’s why. No, I don’t get to converse much there. Hardly. But at least, I don’t start questioning my relationships with people that I know in real life. Just real talk here, guys.
This year, I made THE VEERLEDOM active. I even recently made a Twitter account for it, though, I still need to take care of its settings. I keep getting notifications from various people I have not associated it with. Instagram? After years of inactivity, it’s now semi-active. I post once in a while. maybe an average of, at least, once (ha ha) in two to three months. I did post more recently. I follow several accounts, but to be honest, there’s really just one account that I really make sure to check daily. That’s content creator Andrea So‘s. I do the same onTikTok and YouTube. Call me a fangirl. She was the only reason I opened a TikTok account in the first place.
Contetnt Creator Andrea So , also popularly known as Agent Red
I’ve talked about her several times already. In fact, I already posted the first two parts of my article on her. Part 1 is an introduction with a variety of sample videos to show her work. Part 2 introduces the fan faves, the top two of her five most popular characters. Part 3 will showcase the other three characters. Part 4 will spill facts and answer some FAQs about her. Of course, since this is my blog, I write them in any style I want, so they’re not your usual feature writeups. (You might want to revisit the pages if you’ve seen them as I just made changes/updates and added information)
I was reluctant to admit that I was fangirling. But I realized that if someone who’s older and famous like Lea Salonga can unabashedly fangirl in public on KPop’s favorite boys, BTS, I certainly can fangirl on whomever I want. I found Andrea’s videos on YouTube at a time when I was bored (I didn’t realize I was till then) and frustrated about many things. I was also getting depressed because I joined cat and dog rescue and adoption groups on Facebook. I felt so down that I couldn’t give the necessary assistance that were/are mostly needed. There are so many cats and dogs that need love! I couldn’t even adopt any because we already had too many for us to handle. It was stressing me out, for real.
To make the long story short, I found Andrea and she made me less bored, frustrated, and depressed. Her bad*ss Agent Red reminded me of my bad*ss Maya de Alano. I love that people love Red and that’s the kind of love I want Maya to get. I want to enjoy writing Maya as much as Andrea enjoys portraying her famous agent. Andrea inspired me to write again that I finally decided to copy or move my stories, my “book” in particular, to Wattpad. I am seeking a broader audience. I don’t exactly want to focus on just a certain target audience but it can bring me to the right ones who will appreciate the story.
Alright, I don’t want to spill everything in just one post. Do expect more to come. I’ll leave you with some transition vids from Andrea.
