X Marks the Now-Missing Spots #atozchallenge2014

“X marks the spot.” I’m sure you’ve heard it said, at least, in books or movies. The letter is considered as a sign, a mark, as said. In other words, it’s an exact location.

I am down to my last two letters for the A-to-Z Challenge, “X” and “Z”. “Y” came first for the simple reason that I didn’t know what “X” to write about till the other day when I had an inspiration. Then what happened this morning? I decided to check  MY FOLDER and found that a lot of what I’ve written as guest blogger, under the Web Content Writing category,  now lead to error or missing pages.  X MARKS THE NOW-MISSING SPOTS is more like it.

I am totally disappointed. I will have to search for those articles, maybe they’re in there, somewhere else, in the same sites. Unfortunately, I think some of the domains have already expired. Right now, there are only these three that are still right there:

  1. I am a part-time content writer for almost 2 years now. I don’t know if i am good, but I still get paid. Hahaha. Actually, I wanted to be an editor, but i don’t know where to apply. Writing for online clients is not really my game. I just do it for extra money.

    • Editor for what kind of work? Kasi if we’re talking about magazines, it won’t be that easy to be an editor agad. Books? Maybe apply sa publishing companies. But most will likely need your experience. Mainly, marami sa editing sa publishing, for younger ones, it mostly simply involves proofreading. Try mo searh pa rin sa online classified ads. Join JobStreet. You’ll have to emphasize in your resume your writing background and anything related to editing.

        • The thing is they normally want writers, not editors, and generally, you act as editor to what you write anyway. People who outsource these kind of stuff are often businesses that don’t exactly publish although they may maintain blogs that you can work on. So they don’t exactly look for editors but writers, or those who can act as editors among other things, what is termed as Virtual Assistants. It really depends on the business, but I’m explaining to you the scenario. You CAN be an editor, but be prepared to still write and/or assist in other things.

Publishing companies would be the ones looking for editors, but not even always since they don’t need as many editors as writers.
